With the large number of recent models they introduced, not to mention that one of their models (well, technically that's not correct: these new "Citizen" machines are, in fact, manufactured by Kinpo, but then again, even on Kinpo's Web site, the photos show calculators with the Citizen logo) was picked up by Hewlett Packard for an OEM calculator, the Citizen brand now deserves its own Web page. It also happens to be a perfect opportunity for me to introduce dynamically generated manufacturer pages; much of the information you see on this page is generated "on the fly" from a MySQL database.
The first Citizen calculators I encountered are from the late 1980's. They were simple OEM scientifics with minimal programmability. Recently, however, Citizen introduced a number of advanced scientific programmables into its product line, machines with unique features and design.
Classic Citizens
Best known for watches, the Citizen brand name was also used for other electronic products, including a small lineup programmable calculators, mostly marketed in the Far East. A New Lineup
Recently, the Citizen brand name re-emerged with a very strong product line of nicely designed, quality scientific and programmable calculators. Sold apparently mainly in Europe and the Far East, these machines rapidly gain popularity due to their low cost and pleasing appearance.
