Bad diode in HP-25 DC-DC converter

The symptoms were simple: no signs of life. Poking around with a scope I established that the DC-DC converter wasn't working. Close visual inspection revealed a diode whose glass casing was broken in half. I replaced it with an 1N914 and the calculator has been working ever since.
